Who we are

SearchCrow (searchcrow.com). Contact: hello@searchcrow.com. [Company name, address and ICO registration number to be added.]

What we collect

  • Free check: your email address, website, business name, business type and town, whether you asked for tips by email, and a one-way hash of your IP address (used to prevent abuse; we don’t store the IP address itself).
  • Accounts: your email address, a securely hashed password, and the business details, competitors and questions you add.
  • Results: the AI assistants’ answers to your questions and our analysis of them.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand how the site is used and how fast it loads. They are cookieless: visits are counted in aggregate, nothing is stored on your device, and there is no tracking across other websites. Before anything is sent we remove ids and secret links from page addresses (for example, a free-check result is recorded only as “/check/[id]”). We also record a few events, such as “free check started” or “signed up”, with general details only (a business category, a score range); never your email, website or business name.

How we use it

  • To run the checks you ask for and show you the results.
  • To email you your results, and tips only if you ticked the box.
  • To prevent abuse of the free check (rate limits).

Who we share it with

Your questions, and your business name and website, are sent to the AI providers we check (such as OpenAI, Perplexity, Google and Anthropic) and to search-data providers, so they can answer. We use hosting and database providers (Vercel, Neon). We don’t sell personal data.

How long we keep it

[Retention periods to be decided and added.]

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
